Gynecological care and self-advocacy
How to prepare for a visit and what to do if you experience discrimination or discomfort.
Gynecological care is a normal part of health care. Before a visit, you can prepare questions and decide what you do or do not want to share. You can ask the provider to explain each step before it happens. If you feel judged or disrespected, you can end the visit and seek another provider. Your dignity matters.
